I'm looking for a shortcut (not HD) to bypass the group function
I'm looking for a shortcut (not HD) to bypass the group function, only for quick action. I'm not talking about cmd + shift + G (enable / disable group), but only keys to move a clip independently, even if it's grouped to the base. In my editing work, I use the groups in an essential way, but I often have to move a single clip without affecting the group.
It seems to me that I have already seen this shortcut, but I can no longer find it.

Not shure about clips in the edit window, but ctrl is the modifier key to override grouping in the mix window; fader, mute, solo and so on. Have you tried that?

On windows, holding the Windows key allows adjusting a single track without doing anything to the other tracks in the group. I'm sure there's a Mac command for the same(try the apple key)

Unfortunately, it's really for editing. Nothing seems to work for editing.

It does not seem. Curious. Does a Mac user have an answer?

Re: I'm looking for a shortcut (not HD) to bypass the group function
Maybe a little longer than you were hoping for, but:
If you're showing the groups list in the edit window, you can cmnd+opt+3 to put keyboard focus on the groups list, then type the letter of the group ID to temporarily disable the group, perform your edit, then type the letter again to re-enable the group. cmnd+opt+1 will put focus back on edit commands. |

Ctrl+Shift+G is all I know. Works like a charm.

Yes, this is to untie the group. I am using it. I am looking for a key (or 2 ...) to hold to act on a single element, even grouped.

Re: I'm looking for a shortcut (not HD) to bypass the group function
To the best of my knowledge, there are no shortcuts for either platform(Mac or PC) that do not exist on the other, so....2 things to try:
#1- enable keyboard focus(the little A-Z in the upper right corner of the EDIT window). It will be yellow to show its enabled. #2-While in GRID mode, try each of the 3 modifier keys while you try to (with the mouse) click anywhere that is NOT on a grid line(if you set the grid value to a full bar, this will be easier to figure out which modifier toggles GRID off when held). Fingers crossed If no single modifier key works, try combinations of 2 at a time, or Shift+modifier
