Default How Many of Us Could Do This

This is a sense of rhythm and timing that almost seems humanly impossible.

I believe its a form of Indian chant. Korvai in Khanda Gathi performed by Konnakol artist Manjunath BC — Transcription by Andy Gander

Check this one out by Steve Smith:

South Indian vocal percussion analogous to the hand percussion done on tabla.

Don't take my word for it, but I believe it's actually a requirement for aspiring tabla players to be able to vocalize the patterns even before they ever put their hands on skins.

Could well be a bit of a myth but I wouldn't be surprised if this were true, given the highly formal nature of Indian classical music.

Anywho, has anyone of these guys done "The Black Page" yet..?

Not a requirement as such but quoting from the Fall 2018 issue of Drum! magazine in their article on tabla from page 72:
"Just like learning any other new language, understanding and conversing in tabla is best achieved by reciting and paying the basic bols, then eventually moving on to complete sentences, common phrases, and finally, poetic compositions."
