EZDrummer 2 vs Superior Dmr 2.32?

I get constant crashes with EZ Drummer 2, when ever multi-out is used. It's unusable here.

Slate, Addictive, Strike, and BFD are all fine.

I tried the Multi Out once and EZ Drummer 2 crashed hard, also when screening the midi sections it crashed when I scrolled through them, plus it seems you cant have SD 2.0 and EZ Drummer 2 open and active in the same session this will also crash Pro Tools 11

I tried a second download of EZ and the same thing happened. It seems there was no beta testing on the AAX version.

Another thing, when you click for Multi-Out, there is no output 3. It goes from 2 to 4.

This is very broken.

Man, that stinks. Do they have decent reputation for fixing the wrong, or is there good reason to expect many months of waiting for this to be fixed?

edit: I just looked at the EZ forum. Seems someone has a workaround and also might be related to sample-rate. http://www.toontrack.com/forum/ezdru...ide-live-ezd2/ No idea if this helps any of you guys or not, but figure I'd post what I saw.

They were able to repro this in 48k sessions. But it's unlikely they will be very fast with a fix. They never did fix the AAX bugs in the first EZD.

No I would not look for a fix very fast, They still never fixed the SD 2.0 bug that in AAX you can not open more than 1 SD 2.0 in a session once the RAM goes over 2GB. Now let me say I really don't want to bad mouth Toontrack they have made some great products and the price point is unreal, they just need to listen to the customer more and work harder on fixing the bugs we find, Thank you

Okay, here's my results:

Multi-out works, BUT, to have things assigned in order(1,2,3,etc) you have to select the outputs manually. Also, if you change kits while in multi-channel mode, the outputs get more screwed up(like kick and ambience both fed to output 1). Not only does #3 get skipped, but other numbers are skipped, and the order is almost random.

But wait.... There's MORE when I switch to multi-channel mode, the kick drum suddenly gets a high pitched noise/rattle added, making it useless.....SOMETIMES.

My advice for now, use it in stereo mode to build your song, then remove it and change to SD2, or set the multi-channel assignments manually(and cross your fingers that the bass drum doesn't go sour).

FWIW, I couldn't find anything on the TT forum so I sent this info to their tech support, along with the suggestion to come read the posts on the DUC.

Thanks, folks! I've seen enough.

I had ordered EZ2 based on the earlier feedback, but then saw the routing issues last night. I subsequently cancelled the order this morning that I placed with Audio Deluxe 2 days ago, along with 4 EZX packs I had selected.

Audio Deluxe did the cancellation just now as I was typing this up, so kudos to them for the rapid response and refund.

I'll give it a little while to see if it gets fixed. If not, I'll select something else.
