Default Audio Device Buffer Underflow \"error 6088\"

I need HELP!

i just bought Pro Tools le 7.0 002 rack.

It is running on a Dual Processor 2.2 GHZ Compaq XEON with 2 Gig of RAM on the Windows XP platform.

After loading Pro tools le 7.0 on my pc and opening a demo session that came with the software, in order to test the unit and software...

as the demo session is playing suddenly i end up with an error " The device Buffer Underflowed. If this occurs frequently try decreasing the H/W Buffer size in the playback engine. etc...

i have changed the settings within the playback buffer but nothing seems to help and this problem continously happens... I have not been able to play out the entire demo session.

Does anyone have a clue how to STOP this from happening.

thanks...

I had the same problem, so I went through each device in Device manager, disabling it , and found to my surprise, it was my scanner causing the problem. Everything worked fine once I disabled it.
If you disable each device, one by one, you may find a similar thing..

Cheers

Jason
