An LE session will open on a TDM system with the plug-ins loaded and set to the correct settings if the same plug-in is installed on the TDM system (and vice versa). You don't need to do anything special. On the TDM system the plug-in can be switched between being either TDM or RTAS.

thanks for the answer
since i wrote in a hurry i didnt put enough details
i am working on osx 10.6 at home with my mbox and version 6.4 of p.t
at the studio we have a computer running os9 with version 5 of p.t

the plugins i am talking about are waves plugins
i got a hint from a friend that i should automate all the plugins and that way they will open
on both versions i havent had a chance to check that yet and i am not sure about what kind of automation

I was given a TDM session to remix on LE. The TDM session had alot of McDSP plugs (mainly FilterBank and Compressor Bank) I have the RTAS version of the McDSP stuff... but the plugs would not open.(I got an error message saying that TDM plugs would not work in a LE session) Obviously this complicated my life because I am now starting from square one with EQ and Compression settings. Did I miss something? I'm supposed to remix more tunes for the same client.... and it would be great if the plug-in settings could be retained from the original mix.
Any thoughts?

Default Re: TDM TO LE plugins question

unfortunately I don't have access to the TDM system the sessions were created on (so I can't get the original plug settings)
I can't find anything on the McDSP website regarding this issue.
So is this thread incorrect? Do TDM plug settings really transfer to LE sessions? Maybe with some plugs and not others?
thanks for any help

bump

I'm starting the next re-mix (TDM to LE)
Is there a way to make the common plugs (McDSP) activate (with their original settings)?

(Rail are you out there?)
