I know I never could hear the steps on a keyboard controller wheel on any of the synth keyboards I've ever played with, although I've never thought to listen for it. Other opinions besides Peter's?

In my experience with MIDI capable guitar effects processors, (especially the 11R) there is no "stepping" at least that is audible. I use a MIDI expression pedal in my controller to control my wah, and it's just as responsive as any wah should be. (given that actual sweep is different from wah to wah)

I actually find that the exp pedals are very sensitive to movement. For instance, take the 11R's multi-fx function, it's an effect that is technically always on, (no on/off control) and engages when the set expression pedal is moved. Say i change preset while my pedal is at FULL heel down, which is "value 0". Even if i slightly put pressure on it, the pedal sends the information, and multi-fx starts doing it's thing. I imagine that's the space between value 0 and value 1 according to the expression pedal.

Movement with the exp pedal is not at all "jumpy" or "steppy", i don't think you can even really tell the difference between value 0 and value 1 in terms of wah, or if it's even humanly possible to consistently move just 1 value at a time.

Also, i wouldn't be surprised if an "exp pedal in" was just something that converts information into MIDI to control effects anyway, whether you do it with an expression pedal, or modded volume pedal. And since the IK Stealthboard is a MIDI controller, all it's sending is MIDI info right? "analog" pedal or otherwise.

Perhaps. Or, perhaps he needed a solution and couldn't wait months to get his preference.

Well that's not interest, but necessity.

Again, it all comes down to this instant gratification phase we have come into in modern society. There are so many options for everything, yet as soon as something new is even mentioned we "MUST HAVE IT NOW!"

I would much rather wait for something to be done right, than have something now that isn't.

Hey if things always worked out this way we'd still be waiting on the Eleven Rack, lol.

It is official! For the stealthboard we all have to wait for september! For all the people who like to wait this is great news! For all the others this is a big disappointment

And no answers from IK mutimedia here.

And it's almost October - so you are right, there's no delay at all .

I call it the "VaporBoard" cause it's vaporware.
