Default Piano Sounds Harsh and Noisy on Iphone/Phone Speaker

Hello,

I was working on a pure Piano Track ... no other elements included ...

I am using Keyscape or Grandeur Plugin for Piano

For some reason, the piano when heard on any small speaker (Phones mainly ..) sounds noisy and harsh .... even without any processing or so it is sounding like that ... can you help ?

Hmmmm,
What file format is it(wave,mp3)?
How hot is the file(what happens if you lower it 3db)?
Does it sound crappy in earbuds off the same phone?

the format is mp3 but it isnt significant since when i hear other ready songs in mp3 format they seem to be pretty decent on the same speaker

now how hot is the file is something i am trying to figure out because i am still ignorant when it gets to how to properly manage my output faders and how to read the values correctly but even if i quiet down the levels it does give me the same harshness
I have an apogee symphony and i still can't figure out how to do some proper gain staging

Well, some things to check:
1-are you using Pre-fade or Post-fade metering? Using Post-fade can visually mask(hide) clipping.
2-I hope someone else has something better to offer as I'm out of ideas

How does it sound if you hi-pass it at say, 500Hz on your mains?

IOW, is it peaky in the upper mids & high end?

(Dave's already covered all the usual stuff.)
