Export Clips as Files Grayed Out

The title says it all.

I just performed this function on a clip, and when I need to do it again, it is grayed out in the Clips menu. What gives?

First that comes to mind is; a process going in the background, like elastic audio or waveform redraw. Would show in the Activity Monitor window.

Does the clip show up in the Clip List ?
If not, there could be a Clip List search, that has not been cleared.
