No Midi Out Omni?
Hi Guys,
I actually search a bit and haven't find anything about that... On PT9, I would like to create an Instrument or Midi track and send it on All Channels (Midi Out Omni), to daisy-chain 2 or 3 Midi Instruments with their own Midi Channel each... I was doing that on Cubase or Reaper but can't find the way to do it on ProTools. Can you let me know if it's even possible? If yes, how? Thanks, Phil

Re: No Mini Out Omni?
Just assign the midi out to 'all' rather than a single midi channel - should be fine!

Re: No Mini Out Omni?
Hi G!
Thanks for the reply... I never used midi until today and I might be too stupid because I don't have ALL for Midi Outs. I have ALL Channels for Midi In, but for Midi Outs, I only have 1 to 16... I've checked on Preferences and Midi setup, but haven't anything for the pre-configured channels any idea? Phil

Re: No Midi Out Omni?
It's actually part of the MIDI spec - there's no such thing as Transmit Omni in MIDI. Receive Omni - yes. A possible solution to the problem would be to clone the MIDI track and send each of the cloned tracks to the individual MIDI instruments. I'm assuming you want to send the same MIDI stream to all the connected instruments, right? If so, you wouldn't need to send on different channels.

Re: No Midi Out Omni?
Wow... what a cr*p!
It means, I can't get 2 or more midi channels from my Master Keyboard or MPC and send them back to my Expanders... Seriously? I can't believe PT9 doesn't have this feature than any Sequencer from 1980 do have... It was possible on Cubase V1.0 on my Atari... C'mon AVID... Please, make me look stupid and tell me it's available and should just check manual page xxx and activate that or this to make it happen... Thanks anyway musicman... Phil
