External Hard Drive
Hi guys,
I've not been in touch with the forum recently. Can anyone recommend a relatively low price 120 to 200 MB fire wire external hard drive that is doing a descent job of recording audio up to 32 tracks 24/96 simultaneously? I checked Digi website and recommended hard drives are very limited. I tend to believe there are more compatible and reliable hard drives suitable for LE system. My system is G5, panther 002 rack PTLE 6.4. Thanks for your help. Arya |

Re: External Hard Drive
I've had great success with Transintl's external drives.
The drives from AICMicro aren't bad either.

Re: External Hard Drive
I have to second the OWC (other world computing) aka, macshop, referral.
I've mixed a whole album which averaged 60 tracks per song on an HD rig with their drives and they were impressive. I liked the clients drive so much I just bought two 160 gig mercury elite drives for my own projects. I freelance out of a bunch of studios and so I need external drives to be mobile and fast enough that I don't have to dump projects to house scsi rigs during setup- one less thing to deal with means more time spent thinking about micing etc... Someone else mentioned the granite digital hot swap rig. I use that a studio I freelance out of and it works great for archive but I have never tried/trusted it enough to run sessions from it.
