Default videos that output audio to channel 3

I'm using HD Native on an Imac connected to an HD Omni and a stereo monitor set up. While this isn't a mission critical issue, it's an annoyance and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a work-around.

I do audio in ProTools and I edit video in Final Cut Pro. Occasionally I get a video file that outputs the audio in Mono to Channel 3 instead of Output channels 1 and 2. When I'm in Final Cut I can change the output setting and that's fine but when I'm previewing things on the desktop or on youtube it's sort of a pain to switch over to the Mac's internal speakers to hear what's going on.

Anyone else run into this or know of a way to route channel 3 to 1-2?
