Question Drag and Drop Audio Files to timeline - very slow

Hey there, Pro tools is acting odd when dragging an audio file to the timeline. its taking ages until the file comes up in the timeline. what could be the reason for this, it used to work fine before?

Dragging file from where? Region list? Finder?
Have you tried trashing prefs?

check if elastic audio is enabled on the track and turn it off to see if that is causing the delays. This can certainly take time if a busy audio track is imported and then needs to be analysed by the EA algorithm.

Sorry I didn't specify, I'm dragging files from the finder into a non elastic audio track.

Thanks for your help

Than the delay can be that pt is importing (copying, etc.) the files.

Thanks Tamas,
The delay could take up to 1 minute per a 20 sec file

Here's another issue which may be related, this message comes up when attempting to separate audio regions without elastic audio enabled.

Ok, so instead of draggin' files from the finder, use import audio menu.
regarding the error. http://web.mac.com/jcdeshaies/Delete...Bienvenue.html
download the tool, and delete everything with it, that should solve this issue you've had.

Thanks for the solution :) I'm sure there is another way to solve this as it was working fine before. I'm on a new system and have trashed my preferences files without any luck.

When I had this error, deleting the digisetup.osx helped me. Trashing prefs did not helped me either.
The other thing, I never dragged files from finder, so cannot comment on that workflow.
