Default what kind of RAM?

Could someone tell me exactly what the choices are for purchasing RAM?

I plan on getting an asus P5Q model.

Some say DDR1200(O.C)/1066 and some just say DDR1200

What are the differences of the two and What exactly do I look for when selecting my memory for these boards? Make sure theyre DDR1200? Is this the only kind that will work?

The ram below has been very stable and fast on a P5Q. The P5Q wants ram to be at least DDR2 800Mhz. Typically with DDR2, the faster speed memory will have higher latencies. In audio recording and playback lower latency is better.

4 Gigs were about $80. You can find it for even less.

Newegg.com has greaat deals right now. You can get 4gb of 1066 for around $50 after mail in rebate.

Alot of 1066 and 1200 ram is just 800 ram that has been tested to run stable at those speeds. So you will probably have to go into your Bios and manually set your timings because it will probably default to 800mhz

If you choose from the High Performance RAM category, you'll usually get lower clock cycle requirements (i.e. faster) and not sticks which are overclocked. But you'll pay a little more for it.

When you buy the ASUS mobo, there will be a list in the user manual of qualified ram for that particular motherboard.
