Default Downgrade from 7.4 to 7.1

Is it possible to downgrade from 7.4 to 7.1 or even to 7.3? I notice that almost all digidesign hardware on even sites like eBay are all shipping with 7.4. However, even if I purchase 7.4 I would still like to use 7.1, especially because I use FAT32 drives (as they are cross-platform) to do work all over many various studios. Also, 7.4.2 as far as I understand is compatible from OS X 10.5 and upwards, whereas 7.1 - 7.3 is compatible with OS X 10.4.x As you can imagine, why bother spend more money upgrading OS just so I can run ProTools? At the end of the day, is it really worth it?

Good Day!

Speaking thru experience, Migrating back to 7.3 or 7.1 will be a quick and easy process. Just use the "uninstall protools" on the application/digidesign/protools utilities before installing a new protools version.

Also, You will need the appropriate serial for the that version.

Regards,
Joey

Will digidesign supply that software for me? I know it's probably unheard of because everybody wants the latest software. It's just that the LE systems I am buying all come with 7.4 so I really have no choice. I am buying them from eBay

You are better off looking for a used 002 rack on ebay. you can not find a 002 or a version of pro tools under the one that is currently out now in stores. you're only real bet is eBay or here if someone is looking to sell 002 hardware/software. hope this helps.
