Default MBox Original and MacBook Pro?

Hi there,

I am looking to buy a MacBook Pro and was wondering if it will still be compatible with the original Mbox (once the ProTools LE is updated for the Intel Core Duo and all that).

From reading the forum, it looks as though you can use "Bootcamp" and turn off a processor on the MacBook Pro to make ProTools work. Again, does anyone know if the original Mbox will have difficulty running on this machine?

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks very much,

Chuck

While the original Mbox isn't in production anymore, Digi has stated that they're planning on supporting it for a while yet, so once the Universal version of PT is released for Intel macs the Mbox should still work with it just fine.

How about if I buy a Intel iMac now. Do both the Mbox drivers and PT7.x need to be universal to work at all, or can I just use the Mbox 2 as an audio interface for GarageBand 3 until PT Universal is out sometime in May?

You won't be able to use the Mbox for anything under Mac OS X until the Universal version is out.
