Re: Problems with PTLE? Post your configuration he
I run PT LE 6.4 with MBox on an Dell Inspirion 5100 notebook.
I get errors 9092, 9093 and 9129, i think More detailed: Recording or playing back one stereo track with H/W buffer set to 1024 error 9129 pops up after 1 or Network and soundcard are disbled, no programs (like antivirus, firewall or stuff) are running in background, DMA mode on IDE devices is enabled, my bios doesn't show any option to disable hyperthreading, so I guess my laptop doesn't support hyperthreading. Session and audio files are on a dedicated USB 2 drive (7200 rpm), the digidesign folder is on the system drive. Re: Problems with PTLE? Post your configuration here..
Since no one else has posted up this problem, here goes nothing...
How I recreate this problem: With my MBox I create a new Session (I use 44k/24bit/BWF/+12db). Create: 4 mono audio tracks 1 stereo audio track 2 aux tracks 1 master fader Rewire Reason as a multichannel instrument to a track (reason 2,2.5,3.0 doesn't matter they all do it). In Reason Create: 14:2 mixer Malstrom -- Problem 1: as soon as you add that malstrom, the max you can set the cpu usage limit to in PT is stuck at 65%, it will let you change it, but it won't save. You have to remove the malstrom from the reason file, save it, close reason, and close protools completely, then reopen everything in order to get it to stay at 85%. I've never used 6.7, but it has been verified by other members on the DUC that this issue also occurs in 6.7. -- Now the real annoying issue: Go back to PT, record a couple minutes of audio to each of the tracks seperately Add plugins: Compressor to each of the mono audio tracks D-Verb to both of the aux tracks Bus out 2 of the mono audio tracks to 1 of the aux tracks and the other 2 to the other aux track. Now this is the fun part... now try editing your session, add fades, automation, record more tracks, listen to what you've recorded. --- Problem 2: At some random point in the session ProTools will send a screeching white noise feedback loop through the plugins and out the aux track and master fader. a sound so powerful it knocked me out of my chair more than once. --- I know that without the malstrom added in reason, neither of these problem's occur. One can only assue they are related. You may not have the feedback sound happen at first, I've found that in order to MAKE it happen I have to jump around in the session a bit with PT on playback. It of course just used to happen when I least expected it otherwise. I don't use the malstrom anymore because of this, but I really want to use it, and I've grown afraid of PT because of this. How do I know some other freakish incompatibility won't cause this again??? I have had this particular problem since I bought my m-box almost a year ago. It happens with PT 6.1 and 6.4 and 6.4cs9. This problem happened for me on two completely different PC's with completely different hardware. The first PC's Specs: ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe Motherboard Pentium 4 2.8E 800MHZ FSB 1GB Kingston 2x512mb matched pair RAM running in dual channel mode 2x Seagate 80GB SATA drives (later changed to 2x Seagate 120GB ATA 100 drives per DIGI's suggestion) ASUS Radeon 9200 AGP Video card Enermax 350 Whisper Powersupply No pci cards All extra onboard devices on MB disabled Second PC's Specs: ASUS K8N Motherboard Athlon 64 2800+ (socket 754) 1GB Mushkin green RAM (single stick) 2x Seagate 120GB ATA 100 Hard drives ASUS Radeon 9600SE AGP Video Card Antec TR430 Power Supply No PCI cards On both PC's I've used Windows XP SP1 and SP2 with the same results, done fresh installs with only PT and Reason installed, no updates, no TSR's, and problem still exists. I've worked with DIGI tech support and sent my M-BOX in twice to them, first time they repaired a problem with one of the mic pre's which was unrelated, the second time they replaced the M-Box completely. Same problem with both M-Box's, baffled tech support... Once I figured out that the malstrom caused the problem, I gave up on this issue, because I assumed that I would never get help due to the fact that both DIGI and P-Heads have just been pointing the finger at each other on this one. All I can say is that when it happens, the feedback loop comes through the plugins, not through reason. The reason channel sounds fine and exhibits no strange behaviour, its just something about having the malstrom loaded into memory that causes the PT plugin subsystem to short out eventually. Re: Problems with PTLE? Post your configuration he
Hello,
I posted a message earlier about continuous problems with 9129 errors during playback, bounce to disk and recording. And then I found this post. So I have run the system summary module in SiSoftware Sandra Lite, and this is the result. These error messages have happened more and more frequently - I now can't bounce anything longer than 2 minutes, if that. And i can't record to a track for longer either. I would be so very grateful if you could give me some advice on how to fix this problem. I am quite stuck and urgently need to bounce to disk completed tracks. Thank you very much, Sincerely, Dlae SiSoftware Sandra System Host Name : IBM-KIPPER User : KIPPER Domain : WORKGROUP Processor Model : Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 2.00GHz Speed : 1.99GHz Performance Rating : PR2393 (estimated) Type : Mobile L2 On-board Cache : 2MB ECC Synchronous, ATC, 8-way set, 64 byte line size Mainboard Bus(es) : AGP PCI PCMCIA CardBus USB i2c/SMBus MP Support : No MP APIC : No System BIOS : IBM 1RETC6WW (3.05a) System : IBM 2373KXU Mainboard : IBM 2373KXU Total Memory : 1023MB DDR-SDRAM Chipset 1 Model : IBM 82855PM Host-Hub Interface Bridge Front Side Bus Speed : 4x 100MHz (400MHz data rate) Total Memory : 1GB DDR-SDRAM Memory Bus Speed : 2x 166MHz (332MHz data rate) Video System Monitor/Panel : Default Monitor Monitor/Panel : Default Monitor Monitor/Panel : Plug and Play Monitor Monitor/Panel : Generic Television Adapter : ATI MOBILITY FIRE GL T2 Physical Storage Devices Hard Disk : HTS726060M9AT00 (56GB) CD-ROM/DVD : MAT****A DVD-RAM UJ-812 (CD 24X Rd, 16X Wr) (DVD 3X Rd, 2X Wr) Logical Storage Devices Hard Disk (C:) : 52GB (10GB, 20% Free Space) (NTFS) CD-ROM/DVD (D:) : N/A Peripherals Serial/Parallel Port(s) : 3 COM / 1 LPT USB Controller/Hub : Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C2 USB Controller/Hub : Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C4 USB Controller/Hub : Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C7 USB Controller/Hub : Intel(r) 82801DB/DBM USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller - 24CD USB Controller/Hub : USB Root Hub USB Controller/Hub : USB Root Hub USB Controller/Hub : USB Root Hub USB Controller/Hub : USB Root Hub PCMCIA/CardBus Controller : Texas Instruments PCI-4520 CardBus Controller PCMCIA/CardBus Controller : Texas Instruments PCI-4520 CardBus Controller Infrared Device : IBM ThinkPad Fast Infrared Port Keyboard : Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard Mouse : IBM ThinkPad UltraNav Pointing Device Mouse : HID-compliant mouse Human Interface : USB Human Interface Device MultiMedia Device(s) Device : SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio Communication Device(s) Device : IBM Integrated 56K Modem Printers and Faxes Model : Microsoft Office Document Image Writer Model : EPSON Stylus Photo 890 Model : Adobe PDF Power Management AC Line Status : On-Line Battery No 1 : 86% Operating System(s) Windows System : Microsoft Windows XP/2002 Professional (Win32 x86) 5.01.2600 (Service Pack 2) Network Services Adapter : 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter Adapter : Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Mobile Connection Performance Tips Tip 2546 : Large memory modules should be ECC/Parity. Re: Problems with PTLE? Post your configuration he
Here is my trouble. When making a recording I am getting an error message from protools saying "The operating system has held off interrupts too long. If this occurs oftern, try increasing the H/W buffer size in the playback engine dialog. (-9033)" This error message occurs inconsistently but usually about 3 minutes into a recording. It does happen every time that I record anything longer than about 3 minutes long. I have already adjusted the playback buffer to it's max of 1024 samples and the cpu usage limit to 85%.
I am very pleased with the mbox and protools.....If I could just get a complete recording without the error message that stops the process. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Re: Problems with PTLE? Post your configuration here..
PTLE has never worked with this computer. (PTLE would always crash after a few seconds to a few minutes.)
Sonar 3 and Sonar 4 worked with the Digi 002R, but there would be glitches and pops from time to time. The Digi 002R is not working at all now (it won't lock on to a sample rate and the Firewire connection rarely makes, and when it does it loses connection in less than a minute). I hope you are able to do something. My issue is really with version 6.4
I am using a SAC-2.2 controller with my DIGI001 system. Everything was working fine with 6.1.1, but after upgrading to 6.4, I can't seem to get the controller working again! I actually can't seem to even select it in Pro Tools. Anyone else using a similar setup? Andrew |
