Re: Hardware not found error...
I don't know if this will help but many people have has a similar problem with the 002/002R where the hardware is not found and the interface seems like it is not working except for the mute light and sometimes some clicking sound. The problem is related to a power harness in the interface. Most of us simply open the unit and jiggle the power wires and connectors. That seems to fix it. A longer term fix is to replace the poser harness all together.

Re: Hardware not found error...
Thanks for replying...unfortunately that's not the problem in this case. It is a result of having installed new sofware and plugins...not a hardware issue.
Anyone else?

Re: Hardware not found error...
I just received a brand new 002r via warranty regarding an unrelated issue (one of the firewire ports was defective -- purely cosmetic).
I attempted to reinstall Pro Tools and still got the "hardware not found" error.

Re: Hardware not found error...
Despite numerous posts I never heard back from Digidesign. :-(
So I spent a couple more hours after installing the 002rk...made more room on my boot drive, deleted the files I was asked to delete (again), turned the unit off and on, rebooted, reinstalled Pro-Tools and FINALLY it now works once again. I assume the culprit was EQ III so despite other posts suggesting it should work, I think I'll leave it alone. Bottom line is that I have my system up and running again with AVID Pro Tools 6.5.2 and AVID Xpress Pro HD 5,1,2.
