BCF2000 not working PT8.04

I pulled out my old BCF2000 for some mixing and have been unable to get it working in PT 8.04. Firmware for the BCF is 1.10, it is bHUI mode. It is set up properly in the peripherals box, and when I open a session the BCF resets its faders to unity, and will also RECEIVE midi information. I cannot, however, SEND or RECORD midi info from the BCF2000.

I'm in USB mode.

Any thoughts?

Confirm that in Peripherals, both Send To and Receive From show the BCF, HUI mode is selected and 8 Chs are selected? Perhaps resetting to None and reselecting might help.

Shot in the dark... MIDI Through have any effect?

I assume you've swapped USB cables. How about USB ports? Mine works fine on a powered hub, are you on a hub or direct?

AFAIK, your firmware is current, at least it matches mine. If all else fails, reload the firmware.

Thanks Bob. Upon further investigation I think my unit is fried. I think a firmware flash would do it, but I can't change USB modes to get into USB mode 1 and flash the firmware, and there doesn't seem to be a hardware reset on the unit.

Bummer.

If you're convinced of a hardware fault, perhaps a local dealer can help you out. You might also try Behringer support; I've heard that they can be fairly accommodating.

On the other hand, you've probably expended enough time on the POS already. Maybe it's time to upgrade or belly-up for another one. ;-)

Hey, I have the same problem with my BCF2000 (bought it used from CL)

I figured USB was fried so I decided to try using MIDI into my MBOX 2, changed to mode to S-4 (while powering on hold the fifth button at the top, as if you were going to bhui mode, but hold it for a second or teo longer until you see EG appear, then turn the first rotary to S-4).

From there it was as simple as configuring a HUI midi controller using my Mbox midi I/O. Works flawlessly now.
