Default Burn 4x in macbok

Hello


I cant burn audio CD 4x in macbook.
minimal speed is 7x
i use toast 7, mac osx 10.4.8

That's B.S.

The old 'rumor' (about 6 years ago) was that 1x was the only acceptable speed. Interesting to see it's resurfaced with a new 'best' speed, but it's still BS. Whatever your drive can handle is fine, as long as the media you are using supports the speed.

To talk a little more about this, the only reason to slow your speed down is to prevent buffer errors from leaving artifacts on your disk. Some cheap drives although they say can burn higher speeds have consistency problems which lead to these problems. You won't have that with a good burner like the one your mac has so burn away.
