Pro Tools not recording after windows update!?!?

Greetings!!!

I recently updated windows vista 32-bit, before shutting my computer (dell inspiron) down, and now pro tools 8 won't record any sounds from my mpc or microkorg. Also, when i try to audition sounds from Reason (ran through Re-wire) i hear nothing through my monitors. I use my microkorg as a midi controller, but i get no sounds.

I had none of these problems before i updated windows.

Could someone please try to point me in the right direction?

What got updated? Did IE8 get installed? If so try uninstalling it.

I uninstalled the updates, but i'm still getting the same problems. should i uninstall and reinstall both pro tools and reason? or/and are there any more suggestions?
