I've actually modded my JCM 2000 to help with this too. I had the voltage across the power plate lowered significantly. It cleaned up a lot of the mush. It dramatically lowered the out put of my 100 watt Marshall, but really, who needs 100 watts of mush anyway. This gives the presence control more shaping capabilities at higher gain.

Here's the thing with the Sweetwater/Player presets; IMO, they are not made to emulate sounds from their music, but, instead, are simply presets these guys made. |
