Default Time compression artefacts

Hi all,

I am wanting to use a 4 bar bass loop recorded previously in a demo of the same song. The bass loop will stand on its own in the song for 4 bars.

The issue is, I recorded the original demo 5 bpm slower than this one I am currently working on and when I time compress (using the TCE tool) the loop to fit the new tempo I get horrible low end artefacts.

Is there a better way of doing it?

neeel.

You can try outright editing or even one of the other algorithms on the market. I like the one from waves (soundshifter iirc). You can choose which algorithm to use with the TCE trimmer tool through the preferences menus.

I may just re-record it.

I wanted to use it because there was a real vibe and a weird sound going on that I have no idea how I made it.

Maybe I will use Live! Do you think their algorithm is any better???

Neil.

Soundforge should be able to do 5bpms with no problems.
