Is there a way to make these two sounds the same?
Is there a way to make these two sounds the same or similar?
If not please let me know. If it's possible, please let me know how. What would I need to learn more about to do it? https://soundcloud.com/user-416704164/15l |

Wow !
Hi this is what come to my mind fast . You can divide the hits first on transient . Using the TAB key and control E . Then Select the one you want to be the main sound and copy it . Next with the TAB key on your keyboard go to the sample that need to be replaced and paste the copied one and so on with the rest . I hope i explain my self well . Make a copy of the track first just in case .

Sorry, I'm new to music and I don't think I understand what transient means.

Re: Is there a way to make these two sounds the same?
Oh, I meant that I liked the sound of the (drum?/kicking sound) and I wanted to try and copy that sound but when I use my drums it sounds different.
I want to make my drum sound punchy and heavy like the sound I provided. The two sounds are different but I want to make the second sound sound similar to the first sound. I think I'm bad at explaining because I don't know the musical lingo yet. I don't really want to just take someone elses cool drums and sample it. I want to learn how to make my drums sound good like theirs myself. If that makes sense. I'm not really sure how to phrase it yet. I want my drums to sound different. I know about EQ but I think that it doesn't really change the sound that much. I'm not sure if it's even possible to take a sound and make it sound totally different. Am I making sense? |

Oh im sorry i tought you were talking about the track 15L two kick pattern .
Well if you mean the next track on soundcloud ( Lil pep ) . I think you might want to use samplers eq , compression and limiter if needed . You can get close with the one you have but with samplers you can virtually clone it . Also you can try Reason kits , Avids Boom and Battery from Native Instruments .

The two kicks in the same track are different sounds.
I want the two kicks that are in the same track to sound the same as possible. |

Re: Is there a way to make these two sounds the same?
I'm sorry. I just don't think I can explain it right.
I don't want them to be on the same beat. I can't wrap my head around what a transient is. All he did was make them the same beat. He doesn't explain what transients are or give any played examples of what they sound like and what the difference sounds like. I was watching very carefully and I did not see the waveform change at all. That means (I assume) that the track he moved doesn't actually sound different in any way, all he did was make it line up with the track above it. I literally sampled a kick from a song I liked. I then, in between those kicks put my own kick in there. I want my kick to sound like the sampled kick. I want to learn how to make the two kicks sound similar because I don't want to just take their kick sample and use it in my song. I want to make my kick sound like the sampled kick. I don't even know if it's possible in music, I just assumed so because I've heard people take an instrument and put "FX" on it to make it sound different. It's just frustrating because I know what I want but I don't know how to do it and I don't yet know the lingo to be able to explain what I want to do to get help. |
