Default Unable to start Pro Tools on my computer

Hello Everyone!

I am very new to Pro Tools (also my first DAW software). I recently purchased Pro Tools Perpetual.
I installed the software on my computer yesterday, did the necessary registration and activation.
Every time I try to open the software I get the following error message:

Could not complete your request because Assertion in "E:\ Code\ 223110\ ProTools\ AAE\ Source\ AAX\ CFicAAXWidget.cpp", line 851.

What am I doing Wrong?

Thanks,
Dennis.

Thanks for purchasing and welcome to the community.

That error is most commonly caused at the driver level and fixed by installing drivers or resetting the Playback Engine. Please let us know the results after following the steps there.

Welcome to PT.
Thanks for the system report.

Everything looks good to me on the laptop, aside from that 1TB hard drive...that thing should only be used for backups.....

You will love the M.2 drives , they are amazing.

Did you load ILOK software?
Did you sync your ilok?

You didn’t mention what interface you’re using? You also didn’t mention if you had loaded the driver for said interface.

In addition to the above advice, with Windows, you SHOULD ALWAYS use the Run as Admin option for installing programs(unless otherwise instructed by the manufacturer)

Thanks for the advice. It got it working yesterday after I connected my Helix multi effects pedal and used it as my interface. This is going to be a steep learning curve for me, but I'm game.
