Very difficult with CPU usage. Its a real pig. I have to make tracks with inserts or plugs inactive temporarily in order to track without getting interrupt messages. I'm dying for this fix. It has cut my work speed at least 50%. Otherwise, I love all of the upgrades with 8........just have to get this fixed. How much longer Digi? Please!

Don't own it.... 7. works fine for what I need and do.

Will wait for all the bugs go away since the HD upgrade is more. Cannot risk all the stupid bugs that are out there to lose work in the process.

Best,

Doc

Mac88s - What kind of system are you on? g5?

I noticed PT HD 8 was a little more resource heavy, which is expected with all the major GUI changes that were made and add-on midi and score editors and windows, updated waveform resolution, increased metering detail, etc, but on my Mac Pro 2.66 this was maaaybe 10-15% difference. You're noticing 50%?!!! Wow. That's rough. I'd be shocked if you're on a Mac Pro.

Well downloading pt8 took FOREVER but so very worth it. I really havent had any problems at all. I have some complaints but they are minor. Nothing that hinders my workflows or any usability. I know this forum is about fixing problems and optimizing things but sometimes i think everyone here is too much of a perfectionist...( well duh were all engineers ) anyhow i love pt8 and wouldnt ever consider downgrading.

Question Re: so how is 8 doing for most of my fellow duc'ers

Mildly weird annoyance. When inserting a marker I'll title the marker then TAB to the comments pane to write something a little more detailed. Well now, the tab goes in the reverse direction as one would expect, and puts the cursor in the number field? I now have to crtl+tab or double tab? Huh?

Also, I like the addition to saving 1-5 custom workspace views. I used workspace a lot, and like to see a few specific details when search and other more informative details other times. By having this function I no longer need to resize and scroll the workspace for the info I need, it's viewable with a touch of a button and then back to MY DEFAULT with another key stroke. But, the memory views 1-5 seem to be only for that window?

If I did a search for 'explo' for example in the workspace, and from the search list I found an explo that I know belongs to a set of other great explo related sounds, I would select 'Reveal in Browser' and continue previewing sounds. Well the customized views are not carried over from there 'parent' window? Huh?

That's it that's different from others.

The cs2 upgrade is really important.

Since I have it, almost no crashes…

Not a 50% cpu hit but a workflow/speed hit. Stoppage, interrupt, editing, saving, etc. Minimize PT windows and usage comes right down. System -
