Default Pro Tools 2019.6 bug

Hey Avid,

So we found a bug when bouncing files offline. Our workflow is conforming foreign 5.1 printmaster to domestic 5.1 printmaster. We output a conformed foreign 5.1 printmaster along with a stereo downmix when completed. What we’re noticing is that the foreign 5.1 pm is about 40 samples early, while the stereo downmix is aligned/synced with the original source files. This did not occur when we had PT 12.8. We caught this immediately when we recently upgraded everything.

Does this also happen with realtime bounce or is it just offline?

Do you have anything on a master bus for your 5.1?

We did not check real-time bounce, however, if there was a section that needed to be inserted, we would arm the tracks in record and punch in. The 5.1 pm and stereo downmix is aligned when punching in. Of course, the signal path to offline bounce and recording to the print tracks are the same, which makes it odd.

The signal path and plugins used for the 5.1 and stereo bus is identical. As a matter of fact, the only thing different is the update to 2019.6. Routing, plugins and templates has not been changed. Clearly, a bug has been introduced and a patch to resolve this is quickly needed.

I don't use quantize so never seen it. And I do a lot of work in MIDI. For me quantize makes things a little too uniform but I can see where some genres might want total uniformity.
