Anyone know of a plug-in that's GREAT for removing pops from vinyl? I've transferred an album to PT and have seen how zooming in and re-drawing the pop line to flat is a very effective way...however, with SO many pops... that would take a very long time. Any other options?
Thank always for all your great opinions.... |

I've heard good things about Izotope RX.

I'm a record collector and dealer and I can say first and foremost, go to the LP it's self and get it proffesionally cleaned using a vacuum cleaning machine.
Until then don't try and get your digital surgery tools out as they do effect the sound and you might not even need to use them in the first place - I'm sure a good cleaning will get rid of a lot of crackle/pop's and what not. After cleaning sample the lead in and use that as a noise profile and then get the plug-in your prefer and use it to get rid of what you can. If your results are still not what you need you are probably going to need to find a cleaner copy of the vinyl. What's the record by the way?
