Default studio monitors..power off question

hey guys...
just a quick question about powering off my event monitors. i picked up a pair of monitor stands for my events but i also use a pair of sony bookshelf speakers as a reference. i wanted to set the sonys on top of my events but found out that i will not be able to reach the on/off switch on the events with the sonys on top. soo...what if i was to leave the monitor switch on and use the switch on the powerstrip as the on/off button for my monitors. would turning them on and off this way hurt my monitors in anyway?

gracias....

oh.. and the weather here is finally getting nicer.. well for the midwest anyway!! time to ride again!

I have no idea if it would hurt them, but I do that. I turn off my powered monitors using the powerstrip.

I personally leave my studio powered up all the time unless I know I'm not going to use it for a week or so. I only turn off my video monitor.
It's up to you which you prefer but the power bar method would be no different than shutting them off at the monitors.
