Default digitest not showing cards

i'm using protoolsmix5.1 with a mac g4.the cards are seated properly and in the correct order...the leds on the cards are lit,but when i try to record i get dae error 6042
(pci bus too busy for dae communication)
digitest does not list the cards. what could be wrong?

Are you using a expansion chassis ?
If yes, see the compatibility lists how to install in the correct slots/ slotorder. I 've had this problem with a digi 13 slot chassis. They were not clear about whether to put the first card in slot 4 of bank 1 or 2. It should be bank 2 !!!
Probably this is not of your concern...

Secondly you can try to raise the DAE buffer size. Size 2 is recommended but I have put it on 4. You can also assign more RAM to DAE.

Lower the H/W buffer size to 128 and set CPU usage limit to 65%

Best to do is to go to the online answerbase and read about this error. I've just been there because i have DAE error 9073 and its kind of related to this one

I have 1 x D24 core, 6 x Mix farm and 1 x DSP farm, 8 slot ribon cable, DigiDesign expansion chassis S/N higher than NB0600100C, Mac G4 QS 733

I don't know the correct slotorder with them (digitest always report misconfig)

mix farms first, then the d24. also, make sure your set the 1000's of colors and you dont have any plug in windows on a second monitor.
