Default HDX Firmware Upgrade for Upcoming PT2019

Hi!

Since it has been confirmed by AVID that they are adding extra voices for PT2019 Ultimate users, do you think HDX cards will require firmware updates or will it be a pure SW matter?

Firmware updates have typically been rather painless.

Hopefully it also sorts out the TB3 compatibility!

It would be great to know if loading the PT 2019 HDX firmware will require re-flashing 2018 firmware for the awkward period where I may need to revert to PT 2018 from time to time.

I guess the question is:
Will the PT 2019 HDX firmware be fully compliant with ProTools 2018?

I guess the answer is: no. But we will see soon enough, I'm sure the readme answers this.

According to avid the extra voices won’t be available on HDX rigs for a few months yet.

The voice packs will be available in pro tools ultimate standalone and HDN.

Read the interview on pro tools expert with avid https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/hom...sive-interview

They mention it and from what I read there’ll be no firmware update yet
