which one of the 2 unit is the most advanced to control protools ?

Anyone worked with both units?

strickly as fuctionnality to control ,I I have a pro control with 2 fader pack and was considering a control 24 if they offer and more detailed controls for Pt

I 'm not considering the Preamps and the monitoring analog path as I already have better tools for that .The control 24 as dropped a lot in prices and i was considering getting one if it offers more function
I only need a stereo path ,no surround no video editing

Well---they are different animals. The Control24 has been replaced by the C24, which is the same in some ways---but quite different in many other ways. The Pro Control is an OLD system that frankly, won't be supported moving forward. This product came out back in the days of the Mix system-----which was replaced by Pro Tools HD, then Pro Tools HD Accel, and now Pro Tools HDX/HD Native. You can imagine that moving forward, it just won't be supported. What features do YOU need to have?

both the Pro Control and the Control 24 are EOL
you would be trading one legacy box for another

Well, as always, depends on how much $$ you get them for...
I got a ProControl for free so I think for that price it's a GREAT product.
It will buy me some time while I wait to see Avid/Euphonix's next move and PT11.
Maybe I'll end up grabbing a used C24 once they start showing up for a good price as I'm not completely sold on the small Euphonix'es so far. We'll see...
