Does 49” Curved 5K Samsung monitors work with PT

Hey guys

We are selling our Slate Raven MTi2’s and was wondering if the new curved 5K monitors would be any problems on Mac with PT? Read that 4-5K was not great a while back so 1500 dollar purchase you wanna be sure. (My brothers idea)

You can split those monitors into 2 27” if needed and not having borders kn the middle like with 2 27” monitors hence why we selling ravens and looking at these new 49” curved LG/Samsung/Asus monitors and they look ultra cool 😎

As far as PT is concerned, one monitor is always better than two.

Not the same but:
Vid card depending. The new AMD Mac Pros should be fine.

Im into a LG curve 34” that I Still scale back for increased txt size.
(on arm over console)
2020 nMP 12 core vega II.
Did not try the larger 49”. I did note that for AMD Freesync The display port is required. Im still using HDMI and all is smooth.

The curve takes a bit to get use to. (Trifocals)
I too am considering the 49” for the workstation rig.

I'd be curious to hear others' feeling about the curved monitors - my experience with one, though brief, was that if I were too close to it I heard the reflections from the curved surface in a way that a flat monitor never did. I'm all about big screen at a distance now.

There is definitely a sweet spot in front of some curved monitors for no reflections. Something to look out for when trying them out.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and input. We are using the 49” above the SSL4056 console so it will be a good distance from the seats.

Got one today and will post some pix this weekend and an opinion

49” Samsung and a Displayport to TB2 cable as the trashcans are TB2 and our new Mac Pro’s have been delayed until 24th march due to china and corona issue.
