considering a mobile rig
Hey everyone, I am a long time Pro Tools LE user. I'm considering getting a Fast Track for use with a laptop, simply because it can be had for $100 dollars on amazon right now. I would use it for sample-based hip-hop instrumental production and hip-hop vocal tracking. I know the software is extremely limited, which I'm okay with, because it would just be a backup/semi-portable rig. I do have a couple questions though that I can't seem to find answers to:
One of the important tools I use in LE is Time Stretch, for adjusting samples. Is this tool, or a similar tool available in SE? Also, in the included virtual instruments, is there a sampler? Or if there is a drum machine, are you able to load your own samples into it? Finally, how bad are the Windows 7 64 bit issues? I can see there have been some updates, but has it really been taken care of? Is it the type of problem where if you take some time and make adjustments, it will work fine? Or is it a situation where it will remain buggy no matter what? I have a Windows 7 laptop, AMD A6 3410mx with 4gb ram. Thanks, Jake |

Re: considering a mobile rig
Pro Tools SE is a very basic version of Pro Tools and has a limited feature set. If you are used to using LE, Pro Tools SE will be a big step backwards for you.
