Re: Multiple 002\'s ?
crinkelcut_chip,
You will need to run the 2nd Digi 002 on a separate computer. Then you will have to decide if the second computer/002 is going to function as an outboard effects rack, running the CPU intensive plug-ins. You can route audio to/from the 2nd 002 by sending through the ADAT I/O, you could also send audio to the 2nd 002 using analog I/O, but you will have addtional D/A/A/D caused latency, in addition to the extra conversions. In theory, I've done this but not with a room full of players, you could use the analog I/O of the second 002 by setting up 8 Aux Inputs on the second 002, each assigned to a different analog input and an ADAT output. On the 1st 002, the master, you would then create up to 16 Mono Audio Tracks with the 1st 8 receiving input from Analog 1-8 on the 1st 002 and channels 9-16 receiving input from ADAT 1-8. Presto! 16 analog Inputs for tracking. Note: you will need to designate the 1st 002 as the digital clock master, set to Internal Sync. The 2nd 002 would be set to Optical Sync. In this scenario you do not need to establish MTC or SMPTE postional sync because you are just using the 2nd 002 as 8 additional channels of A/D. Later when you get down to mixing you can configure the second 002 as an effects rack. It is possible to MTC sync the two 002s together, but it will certainly be a hassle. If you need more tracks you could buy the Music Production option to expand your track counts on the first machine. If all of this seems like more than you want to get into, then check out the Quadzilla thread in the Pro Tools LE Windows section. Very impressive results are being posted there. I hope this helps wiht your decision. Eric

Re: Multiple 002\'s ?
Also, if your friend is getting the Control 24 and selling the 002, what's he going to use as a Pro Tools interface? (which the C|24 is not) Is he going HD/TDM? Getting the 002r?

Re: Multiple 002\'s ?
Sort of on the same note. Does anyone have any ideas for syncing up a Roland 2480cd and an 002R 7.1?
Thank you very much in advance ROQ_IT STUDIOS |
