Default Apogee AD 8000

Anybody actually set one of these up before (AD 8000)?

I'm going to run it into my 002R via ADAT.

I read the pertinent parts in the manual and it seems like the main thing is setting the dipswitches in the back. My buddy at the rental house cautioned me that I'd have to study up in order to get this thing running-- so far it looks pretty easy. Am I missing something?

Anyway I haven't used it yet because I have to convert all my sessions to 48K.
