Post Can I use heat in PT HD 9 with a 003?
I'm looking foward to have a PT 9. Can I have PT HD 9 instead of PT 9, once I have digi 003? If the answer is yes, would I be able to work with TDM plugins and heat???

No. Heat is a TDM plugin

Here is a very beautiful plug-in from Nomad Factory that gives you some of that 'analog warmth' you are looking for:

it's also not very expensive and works fine in Pro Tools 9 LE on a 003!

Just to clarify (and avoid future confusion) There is no Protools 9 LE. there is only Protools 9 and Protools 9 HD.

lol- yes! my bad- and to clarify further- Magnetic will work on an HD system as well as an RTAS plug-in : )

If you have a PT9 HD license and start it without the HD hardware, you get PT9 with the Complete Production Toolkit 2.
Which means PT9 + more tracks + VCAs + advanced automation + ...
But unfortunately, the ... does not include HEAT, which is a pure HD feature at the moment.
The same holds for TDM.

You can only use TDM plugins with Pro Tools HD TDM HARDWARE. The Same goes for HEAT.

You do have the option of getting the complete production toolkit 2, which essentially gives you all the HD9 features.
