Default Destructive Record and Elastic Audio Active

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this “bug”.

Create a new session. By default, Elastic Audio is active with Polyphonic selected. Record a few tracks but DO NOT use EA on any clips. Switching to Destructive Record mode and attempting to record throws a message saying “Destructive Record mode not available while Elastic Audio is in use on some tracks”. PT will not allow recording in Destructive Record mode.

I had to disable EA on every track in the session to get Destructive Record mode to work.

Am I missing something or is this a new bug. My system (shown in my signature) has been rock solid for years.

Thanks,
Greg

Not a bug.
You can’t destructive record over audio that has been enabled for elastic audio. Elastic Audio needs to be turned off and any audio shifted needs to be rendered before destructive recording over it.

Default Re: Destructive Record and Elastic Audio Active

That’s right. I have now set the default to not enable EA on new tracks. Seems to me default should be not to have EA enabled. Only turn it on when you plan to use it.

Thanks,
Greg
