I've been in lots of big studios here in Nashville, in New Orleans and Chicago and I never seen anything but Mac.

And I know of lots of Windows only production chains running happily without touching Macs.

Id say the #1 reason I would go with a MAC is OS compatibility.... you can install windows on a MAC and run it with limited issues (been doing it for many years), which does allow the use of both OS platform software, so If a windows only software you want to run and also want to use a MAC only software a MAC machine could do both.

Try installing MAC os on a windows machine.... =headache

MAC will cost you more especially since the New Mac Pro will require external hard drives and thunderbolt to PCIE chassis, etc...

I really wish Pro Tools would run on Linux machines which would open up a whole world of computer options on a more stable OS.

Default The Ultimate Mac vs PC Thread...

Not really, but I'm wondering if Avid might let us put up a "permanent" poll where we can vote for Mac or PC and give our reasons just once and be done with it?

I mean, we've just gotten two new PC vs Mac threads on here...

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?

lol... Id say each time something gets updated the debate changes

I dont think you can just post a final voting page... it would have to be a page per version of OS and PT version... that would be a lot of pages.

But yeah I agree... I see these posts about PC/MAC monthly

Kind of like which DAW is best...people seem to want affirmation about their choices. I say you are all wrong and I'm right, right?
