Default No AVB devices detected - S3

Hello again!

New thread, old issue.

After the upgrade to Mojave and the firmware/Eucon update, the S3 has - a couple of times now, disappeared. It works 90% of the time - maybe even 95%, then, from nowhere I get no audio through the desk, and Audio Midi Setup says "No AVB devices detected on your network"

The Avid software and firmware are up-to-date, and while it COULD be an Avid issue, it seems to generally resolve itself if the computer is switched off overnight (I don't know the minimum hours off it needs, but certainly one hour doesn't cut it). That in itself seems like a computer issue, as the desk doesn't discharge over time.

However, the machine was off all last night, and there we are - or rather there we aren't.

The other reason I'm leaning towards Mojave OR my iMac is that I see numerous postings online on this subject, and for a variety of AVB desks and interfaces. Common denomination seems to be Mojave.

I've plugged/unplugged everything - even things that weren't connected. Reset PRAM, SMC, switched things on and off in numerous different orders - BUT - and I stress this: what on earth would be the reason or point of that, when it has worked every day i the past, and NOTHING changes between it working and it disappearing. This is getting frustrating!

Any thoughts? Workarounds? Is anyone else in the same boat? All advice gratefully received.

Though not particularly helpful, I haven't seen the AVB interface or the Eucon Midi ports, since updating to Eucon 19.5.1.44 and ProTool Ultimate 19.6

My computer has NEVER seen my S3 as an AVB device.

The AVB part has nothing to do with the EUCON software.

I presume it's not showing up in Audio MIDI Setup as an interface ? What IP address is the EUCON network interface ?

Hi Eddie.
Though, as I mentioned earlier, though not particularly helpful, this sounds a little like the other thread (where you got us to check out our AudioMidi setups etc).

Unlike the original poster, my Eucon setup is working well with ProTools, LogicPro and not disappearing etc... however, there is no longer an AVB audio driver available (ie from the S3) and Eucon the Midi Ports no longer exist. This has all been since the most recent updates.

It seems like there maybe a few more people out there having similar issues. Be great to get to the bottom of it and the route of the cause.

The AVB is Core Audio...no driver installed by us.

Hi Eddie,
This led me to realise that I have been using the S3 with Dock attached to a Digirid approved switch (Netgear GS108), which when I bypass and connect the S3 directly to the MacPro Ethernet2 port, the AVB driver does appear! However, still no Midi ports.

Hi,

Have you tried disabling SIP (System Integrity Protection)?
