Well i'm sitting next to the "new" computer as we speak. Installed Graphics Card, 1394 Card and, "Dumb'ed it" down to 32 bit version of Windows 7.

Now... Do I install Pro Tools first or 002 drivers??

Assuming the 002 is functional(you ARE aware of the power harness issue, right?), and a compatible computer, you SHOULD be able to get this setup working(but a used 003 would maybe have been a better investment)

SHOULD is really use "the Previous 003 driver" 9.0.6 - Apr 3, 2014 - Support for Pro Tools 10.3 - Pro Tools 11 with 003 Console - Miscellaneous bug fixes - Digi 002 Console not supported

or SHOULD I use: 9.0.2.65 - Mar 8, 2011 - For Digi 002 Console and 003 Console

Well.... I chose to 1st install PT which works loads and opens without a hitch. Then, I installed 9.0.2.65 - Mar 8, 2011 - For Digi 002 Console and 003 Console the results are the same:

1.) The device is not present in Device Manager under any drop down
(there is no digi anything, anywhere)
2.) The device is not an option in Pro Tools

Next I Powered down 002 then PC and removed 1394 cable and installed "the Previous 003 driver" 9.0.6 as originally instructed by albee1952 and, the results are the same:

1.) The device is not present in Device Manager under any drop down
(there is no digi anything, anywhere)
2.) The device is not an option in Pro Tools

So now, i'm off to my Regional Authorized Repair Center: Ground Control Professional Audio.....UGH

Yes, I believe this is the correct driver for 10.x. If the 002 is dead, the repair cost will likely be more than the unit is worth Typical firewire repair is over $300 and you can buy a used 003rack for less(I have one FS at $275)

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to drop the D@MN thing off to the Authorized Repair Center today as the tech once again was not onsite. Thank God I called ahead!!!

At any rate, tomorrow at 10 AM it will be at the ARC.

I did however contact the merchant today and, due to the fact that I was hospitalized when the Digi 002 was delivered. The Manager has agreed to split the cost of repair with me 50/50, if it needs it. He was also nice enough to allow me to speak with the employee who tested the device when it was shipped who was also the employee who tested it when they acquired the device.

He was very nice and advised me that when they purchased it from it's previous owner, they were very through. Requiring him to demonstrate its ability to function in Standalone Mode as well as a Pro Tools 10 HD control surface on his (the previous owner) Mac Book. He even stated that the previous owner was required to demonstrate each fader in the DAW, multiple sample rates, Phantom Power, etc etc....

(Merchant---> MusicGoRound: Return Policy is 48 hours from UPS delivery time-stamp. A fact that I overlooked at the time of purchase.)

Anyways the sincerity of the two gentleman compelled me to keep looking despite our agreement as to repair cost. And, I think I may have over looked one very small in the scope of things but of extreme importance.... Though Device Manager states the 1394 card is fully functional and Ti classified. It is the SIIG Firewire NN-830112-S2.....which is intended to be Firewire 800 but supposedly "backwards comparable" to 400.

And before anyone goes there.......I KNOW, I KNOW its not supported or on the list!!!! FYI: I was ill at the time I ordered it and my prescribed meds cause disorientation which is intensified by exposure to natural and artificial UV rays.

I'll no for sure tomorrow.....and if card is the issue, i'll be for lack of a better word "bittersweet."

Since SIIG cards are usually good, I would THINK it will work with an adapter cable(FW800>FW400 6 pin)

***UPDATE***

Great news!!! Stopped by the ARC today and the my 002 is in functional condition, except the left 1394 port. Turns out the previous owner had to have input a firewire cable in the 002 upside down at some some point.

But, I have it up and running in Pro Tools 10 HD at this very moment.
(on the Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit PC)

The ARC quoted me $250 to replace the entire Firewire Board and Power Harness plus, MusicGoRound is covering 50% so i'll be having it serviced shortly...

I'll also be testing it with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit to regain use of the other GB of RAM....
