Wow, teething problem. Another suggestion is to create a new user and see if it works with this new user. Part of the network settings are user dependent.
You could also try to delete your current network location and create a new one...

Good luck!

umm ... pro tools on 10.11.5 is NOT qualified ...

i am testing Sierra .. i think people will be happy .. EuCon loads up in seconds .. on El Crap it is minutes ..

i wish people would be Forced to look at the Avid Compatibility List before updating .. would save a LOT of Pain ..

Deleting the network location and creating a new one didn't help. But setting up a new user did. Everything works fine there.

The question is now: What's the difference between these user profiles? I guess the easiest way is to copy all the app data and preferences to the new user, make it admin and just delete the old one.

This has nothing to do with Pro Tools but with Eucon. I never even started Pro Tools. It is just a connecting problem not a function problem within the DAW.

Well, glad this helped.
At least you know where the problem lies, and it indeed has nothing to do with Pro Tools, and most probably not even much with Eucon, but with the users network settings. (Apple's part ;-)
Although moving everything to the new users seems most logical, please be warned; a lot of software stores authorisations info, library paths and stuff in the users settings. Especially soft synths might ask you for library paths, authorisation prefs, etc. Can be quite a pain if you have a lot.
I would first try to see how many plugins/software give issues with the new user and then decide what is more work; figuring out what is wrong with the network settings of the current user, or migrating to the new user.

FWIW: if you do not have a specific reason to work in El Capitan I'd stay away from it, and use Yosemite...

The easiest way of course is to find out the problem with the current network settings. But I really don't know what to do anymore. At least we know that it's on the OS site.

I also tried deleting some of the apple preferences in the user library folder to reset maybe some of the settings. But that didn't help either.

Since Yosemite suffered from a sluggish UI and long loading times I wanted to migrate to El Capitan. So far I experienced an increase in performance and everything is working fine except my controller. That's why I would like to stay on El Cap.

Alright, I migrated successfully everything to the new user account. So this problem is gone even though I don't really know what exaclty caused it.

Thank you very much for all your input and help.
