Yes, and you should. OSX 10.6.8 & PT 8.1.1 has been one of the most stable combinations I can remember...

It only means Avid requires seller to fill in the transfer of ownership paperwork. Previously you didn't really have to, because licenses were transferable without letting Avid know about it.

Great!!
So they told you that the license was not upgradable?
I was thinking of picking one up and then doing the HD8 to HD10 upgrade just in case I ever decide to get a TDM mobile rig setup.

actually no they didn't, but I didn't ask because I have no intention of upgrading, I mean goin from le to hd is a big step indeed but ive been using 8 le with no issues since it came out. I was able to go from 8.0 hd to 8.1.1 with no problems. if I wanted to go to 9 10 or 11 id have just forked over 5 digits and bought a new system hdx. ive asked questions, done research etc and hd8.1.1 is purported to be the most stable best version ever, yes that's opinions and everyone has them. im sure this hd8.1.1 will serve me well!

Good to know, I was thinking of picking up a spare license and didn't want to buy an entire system myself.

I'll give them a call to find out.

Good luck with the new system, I think you will be real happy!!!
