MBP 2015 with eGPU to Help GUI Lag
Is anyone using an eGPU with a MacBook Pro to run a 4k display? I can't find anyone saying if it is helping with GUI lag. Currently, PT runs great on the laptop or with a lower resolution display, but when trying to run it on the 4k display, it's super laggy. Interestingly, I'm really only seeing the onboard Intel HD Graphics 630 activity spiking-- not the AMD Radeon Pro 560 built-in. I was hoping that getting an eGPU to run the 4k display would help, but if the laptop isn't even really using the dedicated on board GPU, will it even help?

Try this first and see if it fixes your issue. I use egpu with my 2018 Mini and it solves the lag.
