Default Re: Remote talent recording

the latest version of source-connect pro also includes the apt-x codec for much lower latencies (which is the only downside to aac in s-c, the sound quality is amazing).

auto restore and auto replace (also in the pro version) are exceptionally clever too.

as long as you have a reasonably fast, low contention internet connection s-c works brilliantly.

Source-Connect's Q Restore and Q Replace feature (part of SC pro's Qmanager) automatically syncs the original PCM audio with the streamed audio, so in the end the entire recording and workflow is lossless. Basically exactly what you are looking for

So w/ SC there is no issues with the final quality of the audio files because they will be exactly the same as the audio on the talent side of the connection one the Q replace process is finished. ISDN can't do that, and SC is way easier and more interactive than ftp-ing sessions all over the place and dealing with crappy monitoring quality.
