002 optical inputs

I have an Apogee Ensemble in stand alone mode with optical out to optical in on a 002. Pro Tools 10 software. No signal is showing up in pro tools. Suggestions??

A few things to check:
Apogee set to either 44.1 or 48K(002/003 can't handle higher on lightpipe)
(in PT) Setup>IO>Input tab-are the ADAT inputs enabled(9 thru 16)?
(in PT) Hardware>is the optical in set to ADAT(and NOT SPDIF)?
(same place) set Clock Source to Optical
Lightpipe "cable" seated well at both ends?(its kind of a crappy connector)

I now have audio going into pro tools thru the 002. Should I be able to input all 8 channels of the ensemble simultaneously? I am only getting ADAT 1 & 2. Any suggestions??

Yes you should be able to track them all simultaneously. Is ADAT 1&2 the only input option you are getting? Should be able to cycle through ADAT 1-8 and be hearing audio on each (as long as there is input sources on each obviously).

Maybe this will help. I follow the instructions given to me by Apogee yesterday to put the ensemble into stand alone mode. But when I unplug the firewire to the ensemble, as instructed, I lose all signal sent to the 002. If I leave the ensemble firewire plugged in, I can go to the mixer in Maestro and send signal to the 002/pro tools but only Adat 1-2. I know it's a setting somewhere but I'm at a loss to find it. Frustrating
