Mbox pro doesn't show up in Playback Engine
Hi I ran a line out of my computer audio jack (not the Mbox) and now I cannot get the Mbox pro to show up in the playback engine window. What do I have to do on my system to get that to come back? Mbox pro. Protools 12. Windows 8

Mbox pro doesn't show up in Playback Engine
Probably a few things. You should also list a few more details about your system and interface as well.
1. Turn the computer off. And unplug the interface. 2. Plug the mbox to the computer and restart the computer. 3. Start PT and while it is loading hold down the N Key. 4. Does it show up? If not 5. Trash prefs.... CLICK HERE 6. Restart computer after trashing prefs 7. Start PT and while it is loading hold down the N Key. 4. Does it show up? .

You need to describe in detail exactly what you are doing and what is happening. What is "cutting out" where? You hear and/or see this exactly how? The monitored audio only while tracking or the actual recorded audio, or both? How exactly are you listening to the output audio? The first quick test is it the interface or the computer/DAW? If you get say a mic set up with hardware monitoring thought the Mbox and listen in headphones does that cut out as well? Or is it when monitoring through Pro Tools... do you see the waveform/meters in Pro Tools drop to zero? Or is it only what you hear? What are your settings like.. playback engine IO buffer size, make sure ignore errors is not checked. If it looks like it is a Pro Tools/computer issue Go to "help us help you" up top of this web page and go through normal troubleshooting including trashing preferences and testing out with a new empty session. Set the playback engine IO buffer to 1024 samples while troubleshooting. |

Re: Mbox pro doesn't show up in Playback Engine
And go into Sound Properties(via Control Panel) and make sure the Mbox is NOT selected as the default playback device for Windows
