Try ticking this box next time before you import a stereo file. (Setup->Session)

Not quite actually. You suggested you could only change it when creating a session, when in actual fact you can tick (or untick) the interleaved box at any point.

Well, if you wanna be picky, I actually said ’I’d guess that the reason your Audio Files folder has split L and R files is because you didn’t tick the INTERLEAVED checkbox when creating a new session’.

I never said that it was the only way. I just assumed that’s what he may have done in order to have the split L and R files.

Either way, my point was, we both suggested the same thing regarding not checking INTERLEAVED for his audio files, which I’m sure is why his folder looks the way it does.

So yeah, great minds thing alike or something like that. =P

What Sardi said.

You just have your session operating in the old behavior by not checking “interleaved” for your session. This was a major change for ProTools when it was implemented because how audio objects were/are treated. Once it was changed, that change was a complete systemic change for ProTools. Multichannel (5.1 and greater) stay interleaved, for instance.

Not checking “interleaved” is actually just a method that was left for those uncomfortable with interleaved files.
