Lost Communication With Audio Interface

I've been getting this error and the most dreadful CPU power error too..

I have a digi 003 with an imac (2.16Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo/1GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM) running leopard 10.5.7 and pro tools 8.0.1

can anyone help?

and I just upraded to 8.0.3 and now when i open a pro tools file it loses connection with my audio interface right away and protools freezes
