Default PT exports stereo interleaved AND multiple mono - why??

Hi all,

I've run into this problem for a while now. When I go to export my mixes (which are already stereo files) that have been printed in my session and choose 'stereo', the stereo file is exported but multiple mono files are also exported. So I end up with StereoMix.aif, StereoMix.L.aif and StereoMix.R.aif. Does anyone know why PT insists on exported the multiple mono as well when it is not selected?

Thanks so much!

is Avid compatibility checked?

all files in your session are mono, Pro Tools does not deal with interleaved files on the timeline

I have this issue occasionally. The only thing that seems to fix it for me is shutting down/restarting Pro Tools.

Default PT exports stereo interleaved AND multiple mono - why??

hi there, has anyone found a solution for this - rather than restarting?

It's a pain for us as we export hundreds of files a day (audio post stems), and sometimes we then have to go and delete all the L&R mono channels after export?
We are on PT HD 10, osx.

thanks

Hi Jack,

I'm having a similar but different problem BUT I have a workaround for you.

First, briefly, WWhen I export in stereo (feature film 90mins 800M) the export time is 1 minute 15 seconds in either multiple mone or interleaved.
However the 5.1 of the same film is almost real time ! 90 minutes to export !
In either Multiple mon or interleaved.

Exsasperated I now use the following procedure.

Highlight Region
Find Region in cliplist
Select the items I need (you may have to click the little triangle to see them all)
Copy
Paste to your desired location.

Copy time less than 4mins (as it should be)

PT 10.3.10 Mac 10.8.5

ciao
