Default Stereo Interleaved vs Multi Mono

a young girl i produce is putting a backing band together and the drummer has asked for click on the left track and backing vocals, strings and other stuff the band doesn't play on the right track

i panned everything and did an export (not bounce) in stereo mode

i'm getting cross talk on the click track

but when i solo the click in the session it has no cross talk and it should not because it is a looped 1 bar song length file that i know has no bleed on it.

multi mono does not have any bleed when i play those files discreetly in quicktime to check outside of PT

why is stereo interleaved having this cross talk issue

stereo interleaved is my file format of choice as i don't currently have software that will burn multi mono
like some out there

i'm using toast.

why is this happening?

One part that I am not understanding. If you are doing an export, are you mixing your tracks down to a printed stereo track with all of these settings and then exporting the track?

Also, have you checked to make sure that it isn't Toast that is causing the problems? Toast has been one of my buggiest programs I have ever owned. I would first try burning it in iTunes or something else and make sure that the problem is completely related to Pro Tools.

Because you're listening in iTunes/iPod and Sound Enhancer is turned on.

"stereo interleaved is my file format of choice as i don't currently have software that will burn multi mono"

that's one of the reasons i keep my old copy of jam around...
even though toast absorbed most of jam's features they left that one out.

As a work around try this. Make your 2 mono tracks then give both tracks the same name and add to the name ".L" on one and .R" on the other. If you select the left track in Toast, Toast will pick up the ".R" or right track as if it were a stereo file. At least Jam will do that.

no no no

my issue is NOT toast related

it is the file itself is bleeding / cross talking

after doing the interleaved stereo file option in export

i'm actually hosting the file on my server to the drummer

it never gets to toast

what i said was i use toast normally to burn cds

and use the interleaved format as i don't think it can bring in the other side

like old digi masterlist could

my issue is in the export bleed not a burn format

perhaps i'll try jam

but as i say i'm not trying to burn a CD

my hope was to have an interleaved stereo file that does not have any crosstalk into the left channel click track channel

the drummer can take the bleed for some reason even thought the stuff on the bleed is going through the P.A.

bottom line the left channel should be discreetly clean of anything from the right channel and that is not happening AFTER i make the export interleaved conversion
